Learning about the surrender of the South at Appomattox Courthouse during the Civil War is the prime objective of this lesson. Your students will read an informational text article about the Confederacy surrendering at Appomattox Courthouse in Virginia. The article is two pages long. Students will then answer questions using evidence from the text. This is a great activity that will teach your students about the ending of the Civil War.
An answer key is included as well.
