Halloween Hacks for the Classroom
Halloween is approaching fast. Do you want this year to be the best ever when it comes to treats and decorations?
We have come up with some Halloween Hacks to make your students’ Halloween experience is the best ever.
1. Surgical Glove Treat Bags.
This is one of our favorite “treats” for our students! All that you need is a box of surgical gloves, or any plastic cleaning gloves, some twist ties, and candy (of your choice). Fill the gloves with candy, seal them, and leave them on your students’ desks and give them a “hand” for a job well done!
2. Mummy Juice Boxes
Students love having juice boxes for parties in the classroom. By adding this twist, they will love them even more. Simply wrap the juice boxes with either white toilet paper or tissue paper, and then affix with glue a pair of googly eyes per box. They will be sure to home and tell their “mummies” all about this!
3. Ghostly Eyes
Here is a fun and easy art project for your students to do for Halloween. Have each student collect one empty toilet paper roll and bring it in to school. Go to the local dollar store and pick up enough small glow sticks for your whole class. Have the students take out a scissors and cut two scary eye shapes into the center of the toilet paper roll. Then have them attach a string to the toilet paper roll. Have them take the rolls home on Halloween, activate the glow sticks, and hang in a bush nearby. Then get ready to watch trick-or-treaters get scared!
4. Worm Surprise!
This is a fun and easy treat to make that is sure to be a hit with the class. First, find some small see through cups. Then put a layer of chocolate pudding on the bottom. Next, crush up some oreos and put a small layer sprinkled over the pudding. Then do another layer of pudding, and a final layer of crushed oreos on the top. The final touch is the best one, add a gummy worm or two to the top. Your students will love to eat the worm surprise!
5. Monster Music
The final hack is the best of all. What is Halloween without some eerie noises? For this hack, you just need a few adults and some props. Find at least one male and one female. For the male, have him do the “Oooohhh” noise like a ghastly figure. For the female, have her do the witch cackle. Then add in some props. Find a creaky door, a chain or two, and shoes that can make loud footsteps. Mix all of these sounds to the way you want them, record them, and then play it back in your classroom with the lights off as your students enter. They will love it!
