Before preparing for spring testing, teachers need to take time to get re-energized and feel a sense of worth. Teaching is a demanding job, and it is important to take some time to recognize their efforts.
We have a list of our top 5 ways to provide teacher encouragement before spring testing.
1. Have a Staff Outing
A great way to show appreciation and encouragement is to have a staff outing. It could be going out to dinner, a movie, or even a drink at a local establishment. Getting out of the school setting and having non-school conversations is a healthy way to re-energize.
2. Teacher Morale Cards
If you are a teacher, and have days where you feel down or not appreciated, or if you are an administrator that is looking for a way to pick up your staff’s morale, this great resource is for you!
Included in the resource are two sets of 50 cards- one set of 50 is on colored background and the other set is on white background. Both sets have the same inspirational sayings and/or quotes. These cards are meant to inspire and provide some helpful reminders to teachers. This would be a great gift for any staff member!
3. Order Lunch
Tired of packed lunches, hot lunches, or TV dinners? Then why not order out and have lunch delivered! What a great way to sit around the teacher lounge with your colleagues and enjoy a different meal. It is amazing what ordering out will do for the morale of the staff. Just place a menu, envelope for $, and a sign up sheet in the lounge. Have a deadline of Thursday, and then call the order in for Friday. Teachers will love it!
4. Morning Treats
When we walk into the lounge and see treats right away, it starts the day off on a great note. It can be as simple as homemade cookies. It doesn’t matter, but treats show that someone cares about the staff and appreciates everything that they do on a daily basis. Need more treat inspiration? Read this.
